Payroll Instructions
New Employees
New Georgetown employees must complete the following steps in GMS:
- Make federal and state tax withholding elections
- Add payment elections (i.e., direct deposit)
- Complete all personally identifiable information (PII) accurately

If you fail to provide the above information promptly, it could result in payment delays.
Employees are encouraged to:
- Check out the payroll calendar to see upcoming pay dates and related deadlines
- Regularly review payslips in GMS to ensure accuracy
Tax Withholding and Change in Work Mode (State)
Submitting Hours
Hourly employees must record hours worked in GMS to ensure accurate payment. Hours must be entered, submitted and approved to pay out. Time entry deadlines are available on the Payroll Calendar .
Stop Payment/Reissue of Check
Information on stale-dated checks (older than 90 days), stop-payments and reissue of checks can be found in Freshservice.
Students
Students who require assistance with payroll matters should contact the Student Employment Office.
